U Kyaw Tin
Chairman
U Kyaw Tin graduated with Bachelor of Commerce degree from Yangon Institute of Economics in 1975 with flying colors before starting career as apprentice accountant and auditor as a requirement to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He became Certified Public Accountant in 1978 and his experience includes audit of Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM), state-owned Myanma Economic Bank (MEB), state-owned Burma Oil Corporation (now known as Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise – MOGE).
U Kyaw Tin started his career with U Hla Tun Group, a prominent Myanmar accounting firm, in 1977 served initially as Auditor and later promoted to Senior Auditor and Audit Team Leader before he left in 1983.
In 1983, he joined SGS S.A. (formerly Société Générale de Surveillance) – a multinational company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland which provides inspection, verification, testing and certification services – Myanmar Office as Finance Manager and became General Manager in 1993 and then after Country Head in 2002. Due to his reputation among the business community and government ministries, he was appointed as Honorary Consul for Switzerland until 2012.
Although U Kyaw Tin joined SGS, he founded Kyaw & Kyaw, Certified Public Accountants, together with his friend U Kyaw Min who was also CPA, and continuously kept himself involved as an accounting professional. U Kyaw Tin also founded V Advisory Limited in 2016 with three CPA Partners and served as Chairman of the firm. However, 2020, he decided to come back to Kyaw & Kyaw again as an Audit Firm.
He is contributing his experiences in several social, sport and professional organizations including U Hla Tun Hospice (Cancer) Foundation, Yangon Sailing Club (YSC) and Myanmar Institute of Economics Graduates Association (MEIGA). Currently, he served as Chairman of Myanmar Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) till 2016 and is still as an Executive Board member of MICPA till present, and also as member of the Myanmar Accountancy Council (MAC), the national regulatory body. In 2020 U Kyaw Tin was appointed as Council Member of Insolvency Practitioners Regulatory Council.
