U Thein Lwin
Executive Director
U Thein Lwin has over 40 years of professional experience across accounting, finance, banking, auditing, and IT. He has held various senior management roles in a wide range of industries, including government organizations, hospitality, construction, trading and distribution, hydropower, telecommunications, banking, and software development.
He earned his B.Com in 1983 and became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1986. He is a certified Professional Accountant in Public Practice and holds the Financial Modelling and Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification from the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI).
U Thein Lwin now operates as a freelance business consultant following the voluntary liquidation of Value Growth Consulting Ltd. on 31st March 2025, where he served as Founder and CEO. Prior to this, he spent over seven years (2010–2017) at United Amara Bank (now uab bank), one of Myanmar’s leading banks, serving in key executive positions including CFO, Deputy CEO, and CEO.
His extensive background also includes seven years as Group Finance Director for a prominent conglomerate, where he established comprehensive accounting and finance systems. From 1996 to 2008, he served as Financial Controller for 12 years at a premier five-star hotel in Myanmar, managed by international groups such as New World Management Ltd. (Hong Kong), Marriott International (USA), and Dusit Thani Hotel Group (Thailand).
Earlier in his career, U Thein Lwin worked at ACE Data Systems, a leading software development firm as a System Analyst/Programmer and a lecturer in computerized accounting (1994–1996). During that same period, he spent three years as a practicing auditor, building on his previous experience at the Auditor General’s Office in 1987.
